Time Bandits - Remake !?
[01.11.2006] Laut einer Meldung bei Moviehole besteht die Möglichkeit, dass ein "Time Bandits"-Remake gedreht wird... [...] The insipid trend of remaking earlier, better films continues with Variety announcing a remake of Terry Gilliam's 80s fave, "Time Bandits". [...]
The new movie - assumingly being made with Gilliam's contribution - will mostly likely be the same thing, just with a higher film stock. The original 1981 film, produced and directed by Gilliam (who created animations for Monty Python's Flying Circus) and written by Gilliam and Michael Palin, is one of the most famous of more than 30 theatrical features produced by Handmade Films, the London-based independent company backed in part by former Beatle George Harrison.
HandMade, headed by exec, Antony Rufus Isaacs, has been digging through the company archives looking for properties he can exploit. In addition to a redo of "Bandits", he'll be making a tardy sequel to "The Long Good Friday".
Sean Connery has just taken his phone off the hook.

To cut a long story short there was an interview with the mighty Terry Gilliam talking about some of his upcoming projects, one of which he says is a sequel to Time bandits, in his own words he's just gonna be babysitting the project as executive producer, but the story is already written!!! Der Score wurde von Trevor Jones komponiert (u.a. "Labyrinth", "Der Dunkle Kristall")... Der Soundtrack zum Film, wurde nie veröffentlicht... Der Song "Dream Away", der im Abspann zu hören ist, wurde von George Harrison komponiert und erschien auf dem Album "Gone Troppo" (1982)...
