Teenager, die Bella auf Grund ihrer mysteriösen Ausstrahlung anziehen. Die Cullens scheinen etwas zu verbergen und als Bella und Edward sich näher kommen, beginnt für das Paar ein ganz neues turbulentes Leben. Schnell wird beiden klar, dass sie sich lieben... Eine komplizierte Liebe wie sich herausstellt, denn Edward und seine Familie sind Vampire und Edward dürstet es nach Bellas Blut... Doch selbst das schreckt Bella nicht ab, sie vertraut ihren neuen Freunden mit den übermenschlichen Kräften, die sich unüblicherweise nur von Tierblut ernähren.

Summit Entertainment's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will be filmed in both Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Vancouver over the next year starting this fall. The next chapter of "The Twilight Saga" will be released as two separate films with the first of the two slated to be released in theatres on November 18, 2011.
Academy Award winner Bill Condon will direct both films starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner along with Billy Burke as Charlie Swan as well as returning members of the Cullen Family including Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Elizabeth Reaser as Esme, Jackson Rathbone as Jasper, Nikki Reed as Rosalie, Ashley Greene as Alice and Kellan Lutz as Emmett.
The project, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series, is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing. [...]

[...] The 4th of July weekend saw the release of Summit Entertainment's anticipated threequel The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, reuniting Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner with new director David Slade at the helm for the third movie based on Stephenie Meyer's popular supernatural romance. It started off its six-day extended run by setting a new Wednesday record with $68.5 million (essentially making back its production costs), dropping drastically on Thursday, then adding another estimated $82.5 million over the four-day holiday weekend including estimates for Monday for a six-day total of $175.3 million. $9 million of that gross came from IMAX screenings, while internationally, Eclipse brought in $100.2 million in 42 countries over the three-day weekend.
The most interesting comparison for Eclipse is Spider-Man 2, which was released in the same manner over Fourth of July in 2004. The "Spider-Man" sequel opened weaker with $40.4 million on its Wednesday then grossing $88.1 million over the three-day weekend, almost twice its opening day, and then setting a new record for the holiday, one that Eclipse failed to surpass. Eclipse essentially made the same in its first three-day weekend as its opening day due to its record $30 million from midnight screenings on Tuesday night. While Spider-Man 2 went on to gross $373 million, Eclipse is more likely to end up in the $300 mil. range. [...]

Summit Entertainment's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse earned an estimated $68.5 million its first day which is a new record for a Wednesday opening, surpassing previous record holder Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ($62 million). The third installment debuted in a record 4,416 theaters.
While the opening day is not as big as The Twilight Saga: New Moon's record of $72.7 million, if the estimate holds it would still be the second-best single day and opening day ever and would knock The Dark Knight ($67.2 million) to third.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse cost about $68 million to make, but that's not counting the promo campaign for the film. [...]

Summit Entertainment's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has already set two records - widest release ever and biggest midnight opening.
The third film in the franchise earned more than $30 million from about 4,000 theaters at midnight, a figure that will be added to the Wednesday grosses. The previous midnight record was held by The Twilight Saga: New Moon, which opened to $26.3 million. "Eclipse" earned about $1 million from 192 IMAX theaters at midnight, a new record for the company.
The David Slade-directed film expands today into a record 4,416 North American theaters which is the widest release ever, surpassing Iron Man 2's 4,380 theaters in May.

Summit Entertainment has confirmed that Academy Award winner Bill Condon will direct The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg, and will star Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt, and Stephenie Meyer will produce the project.
"Bringing Stephenie Meyer's 'Breaking Dawn' to the screen requires a graceful and intelligent hand and we believe Bill Condon is exactly the right steward, having shown equal and abundant talents of immense creativity and subtle sensitivity," said Erik Feig, President of Production and Acquisitions, for Summit Entertainment.
Added author Stephenie Meyer, "I'm so thrilled that Bill wants to work with us. I think he's going to be a great fit, and I'm excited to see what he does with the material."

Summit Entertainment announced today that the home entertainment release of the studio's The Twilight Saga: New Moon sold just over 4 million DVD units in its first weekend of release. The tally surpasses the first weekend sales of Twilight in 2009 which sold 3.8 million DVD units, and went on to be the top selling DVD title of the year with 9.2 million units sold. The DVD launch of "New Moon" commenced this past Saturday morning with 7,000 retail locations nationwide taking part in events at midnight giving fans their first chance to obtain a DVD of the film. Sources tell EW that the studio has reached out to at least three top-notch directors, including Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation), Gus Van Sant (Milk), and Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) to gauge their interest in what is likely to be two movies. (Van Sant’s reps confirmed that he’s been approached, but Coppola and Condon’s people didn’t return phone calls by press time. Summit declined to comment.)

Deadline Hollywood titelt "'Twilight' Saga's Final Book 'Breaking Dawn' Will Be Made Into 2 Back-To-Back Movies With "High End" Helmer/s"...
I have this from several sources, and it's definitive. Filming on the back-to-back movies would begin in mid-October, and Summit Entertainment is looking at "high end" directors. Breaking Dawn is the longest in Stephenie Meyer's 4-book series lengthwise and it's the most graphic -- presenting birth, attempted murder, death, and of course vampire bites. Published on August 2, 2008, it has a happy ending for most of the characters. Divided into 3 parts, the 1st and 3rd sections are told from the point of view of Bella (Kristen Stewart), and the second section from the perspective of Jacob (Taylor Lautner). It prominently features all 3 favorite characters including Edward (Robert Pattinson). Summit Entertainment no doubt will save money by making these Twilight Saga movies #4 and #5 back to back. Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg (who's written all the Twilight Saga films) is currently adapting Breaking Dawn. Eclipse, the 3rd movie, will be released on June 30th. Meanwhile, Yen Press, the graphic novel imprint of Hachette Book Group, announced last month that it will publish the first volume in the graphic novel adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight on March 16th. Due to the length of the prose novel, the book will be divided into 2 volumes and the release date for the second volume is forthcoming. Containing selected text from Meyer's original novel with illustrations by Korean artist Young Kim, it's a fusion of Asian and Western comic techniques in mostly black-and-white with color interspersed throughout. Novelist Meyer consulted throughout the artistic process and had input on every panel.
