Another commando, J.D. is a crass, tough-talking, street-wise guy who, like his comrades, is in the lab attempting to disable the runaway Red Queen computer. A pretty rough-and-tumble character, J.D. takes an immediate disliking to Matt, whom he watches over like a hawk. J.D. is seriously wounded during a clash with the undead, and despite his natural durability his physical condition deteriorates rapidly; he becomes concerned that he's been infected with the same bacteria responsible for reanimating the dead-and as it turns out, he's right...
